Swap Meet and Party The Spring Swap Meet and the Sky Valley party were a great success! Attendance was up 44% over last year, and we sold out vendor space 5 days before the swap meet. With your help, Sky Valley is making a very generous donation to the SonRise Food Bank. Thanks to everyone who came to the party and bid on the auction, and thanks to people and local businesses who donated items. Bike Show Over 30 bikes entered the bike show on Sunday and provided a pleasant distraction for all at the swap meet. Here's a list of the First Place winners. If I make a mistake, let me know. Next year we'll have a better system in place for keeping tracking of names. Best of Show, Destination HD Thanks to CMA of Bellingham for running the bike show and counting votes. Thanks to Ed Wood (soon-to-be-from-Sky-Valley) for registering the bikes and keeping them rolling in. Sky Valley brought home a few of the bike show awards. Gina debuted her beautiful buckskin Evo Sporty, and she, Shane, and Bagger Bob received First Place trophies. Greg Lange took third place for his dresser. Get Well Sky Valley sends get well wishes to Majorie Dannen Miller. Thanks for all your help with transitioning the Swap Meet over to Buck and Sky Valley; we couldn't have done it without you! Rider Down Valley John, Sky Valley ABATE and Bandidos member, went down on SR 2 after leaving the Swap Meet on Sunday. He is in Harborview Medical Center with 2 broken lumbar vertebrae. John has some feeling down to his knees and vows that he will walk again, in spite of what the doctors may say. John does not remember much about the accident. It was raining, he entered a curve, an oncoming car blinded him with its lights on bright, and the bike went down. He was just west of Monroe, near Diamond M farms, heading west. Sky Valley is planning a benefit run, but details will not make the March newsletter deadline. Cowhide & Chrome in Monroe has set up a donation box for John. Call (360) 794-6088 for more info. Snohomish Bike Show Sky Valley will be helping with the First Annual Snohomish Antique & Classic Motorcycle Show on May 18 in Snohomish. More details next month. Helmet Bills In case you did not hear, the senate bill SB 5256 died in committee on March 7. We still have a chance in the House with HB 1242. A big raspberry to Senator James West, career political jellyfish that you are. More Thanks For all who helped with the swap meet, the party, the legislature, and general everything:
